Specialising in fibre optics in the Telecommunications industry, Fibre Tec started in March 2020 as a “3-man gang in a van” with our current Directors working as a cabling crew in Sheffield.
Lee Hampton (14 years’ experience in telecommunications), Charlie Westran (14 years’ experience in telecommunications) and Matt Killawee (18 years’ experience in telecommunications) formed the first “Fibre Tec Crew”, and since their first day in March 2020 the business has only got bigger & stronger.
Andrew Parkinson (20 years’ experience in telecommunications) was hired as Operations Director in July 2021 to help manage the business and the 5 gangs that were working at Fibre Tec Solutions at that time. Fibre Tec Civils started around 15 months ago due to the need to expand the business to a full turnkey, Tier 2 contractor.
The business has grown rapidly since then and we are proud to now have a fleet of around 70 vehicles, 5 active locations/yards & around 100 members of staff (including our in-house Health & Safety Manager, an in-house Mechanic and our many multiple-person gangs out in the field), working on specialist networks such as Virgin Media and Openreach.
Fibre Tec Solutions expanded its operations to become a full turnkey, Tier 2 contractor, Fibre Tec Civils, approximately 15 months ago. Since then, the company has experienced rapid growth, boasting a fleet of around 70 vehicles and operating across five active locations. With a dedicated team specializing in networks like Virgin Media and Openreach, Fibre Tec maintains strong client relationships and aims to be the top subcontractor nationwide.
